More pictures of Jim and Esme "encountering" Cortez the dolphin!
We managed to wangle some Dine with Shamu tickets for lunch, since the two main orca shows were during our dolphin programs. Our orca's name is Corky and she is a very old whale who is still very talented and fun. She played, ate fish and did tricks for us while we had lunch and listened to her trainers tell us all about her.
Really amazing.
In the afternoon Aidan and were very privileged to be able to have our very own dolphin interaction program. Usually these programs sell out to fifteen guests each time, but it was just the two of us and Casey, the trainer. Awesome. We met and worked/played with Crunch, Stimie and Beaker, who were so sweet, obedient and fun. They know so much and are pleased to show it off for anyone! Well, as long as you follow up your request and their performance with some fish!
Double hug for a dolphin!
Aidan accidentally got some salt water in his mouth when demonstrating a back float for the dolphins.
He was supposed to be getting the dolphin to play dead (hand signal is two shooters with your fingers - boom you're "dead"!) but he accidentally splashed the dolphin instead, which means "splash me!" so she did splash him! Whoopsie!
There we go!
Float with me!
